I remember feeling this way when I hit 100 subscribers. 100 for doing what I love?!? For connecting with awesome people? Making sense of my life through writing? It seemed too good to be true and also a bit of a dopamine hit when the subscribers come.

A dashboard detox helped me regain my balance and concentrate on the parts I loved and show up in a way that made sense in my life. (I wrote about the detox, and what led to the detox: https://musingsbymika.substack.com/p/substack-diaries-riding-the-roller)

I love your writing. Please take care of yourself. Cheering for you!

I’m feeling a little bit like that for sure! It’s great but has come with lots of other little gremlins chattering away in the corner. Thanks for sharing about the detox - a job for this weekend I feel!

🥰 thank you so much. That means the world! I love your writing, and you’re a real inspiration to me. Xx

I would literally put my hand in front of the number. But you could create a bookmark to your post tab in your dashboard as well. 👍

I had seen this mentioned but honestly was enjoying it too much in the run up 😅 I think I need to turn the emails off too. I loved seeing them, hated seeing them slow down afterwards!

I love synchronicity. Thanks to Mika's Find your Tribe, we've connected. This essay is beautiful, especially as I'd like to think of it as an example of how we can each decipher our 'value compass' as I called it in my article. So I had immediate resonance when I read 'navigating life with my compass of curiosity, courage and connection, going via adventure and healing'

https://www.carermentor.com/p/how-do-i-articulate-my-core-values?r=a9y7d&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

may I link to this in the next article in my 'values compass series' about 'sharing your values and walking your talk'?

Synchronicity is amazing! I'm glad we've connected 🥰 And thank you. It's funny how long it has taken me to arrive at that idea of navigating with a compass of values, and then discovering those values specifically. Writing here has really helped me work that part out. It honestly feels like I finally know myself properly!

Oh I would love that! Thank you! What a privilege ☺️

🥰 I’m so glad you came to these words at the right time then. Honestly, I needed to hear them too! It’s been a real shift in mindset around my writing. It’s gone from being an activity or a tool to being a non-negotiable.

And thank you! Welcome to my hobbit space 😁 so glad to have you hear ♥️

You have such a beautiful way of bringing the reader into your world - whether that's stepping into your garden or joining you on the yoga mat, it's a real gift. Thank you for the much needed calm!

Thank you! Ah I thought so. I think another name might be rose of Sharon? It keeps coming up when I search for it. It was a real beauty, just bursting through some undergrowth. It’s almost a pest in another part of our garden, so it was a delight to find it somewhere unexpected.

You are most welcome! Here in the US, the Rose of Sharon is most commonly a hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus). Plants can have so many different common names, and it can get quite confusing 😵‍💫

They can! Very confusing. I’ll have to see if I can find the thing that told me that. I was sure rose of Sharon was much smaller.
